My net art piece explores the theme of “Connectivity” by showing how the public used to perceive these figures as leading innovators in stopping global warming, but slowly they are being exposed for their hypocrisy. When stakeholders deemed going green and 'net zero' the big deal to put their cash on, companies greenwashed their image. However, as soon as stakeholders deemed AI the future, these companies stopped prioritizing net zero. This can be seen in how they used to invest in Beyond Meat to the point it was the stock to get; but as soon as the stakeholder narrative changed, no one cared about it anymore and it fell to near penny-stock levels. That is why the background shows 3 different prominent AI in the industry that has been advertised many of times, replacing the “green" initiatives advertisements, as the new thing that is “the future of humanity”. They advertised goals for the better of humanity that shifts where the money leads.

For me, the true definition of “Connectivity” in this project is not the infrastructure built by billionaires, but the internet itself as a tool for the people. We are the ones who exposed this hypocrisy. People from all different backgrounds who might never have met otherwise connected online and realized we are all tired of being lied to. The internet allowed us to compare their promises with their actions, revealing that their "green" initiatives were just trends to please investors.

Ultimately, we share the same planet, and it is in our best interest to be connected to each other for the sake of the Earth. We have to live here together, so we need to look past the profit margins and protect our home. To show this shared reality, I used public domain imagery of nature to represent the common ground we all stand on.
